You may remember Shane from his hyperacusis story on our website. His new video explains how his life has been upended by his sensitivity to high-pitched sounds. Click below to watch it. I understand completely. I have catastrophic tinnitus and hyperacusis, due to high frequency hearing loss. I really appreciate your thoughts. Have gone down the journey of: doctors, ents, mri, audiologist etc. I was suicidal in the beginning, like many, but with God’s help and finding others within this community, you find your not alone. I have started a group; severe tinnitus and hyperacusis sufferers, let your voice be heard… I believe in the fellowship, caring, understanding and love that I try and promote. God bless you and God bless the severe tinnitus and hyperacusis community 🙏
Does your pain last? I apprieciate your situation and mine is similar but the pain sometimes lasts for days or more. Currently i have had pretty bad pain for months and even resorted to pain killers with SOME success.
Thanks for sharing your story. It is difficult to navigate this condition. It is hard to explain that noise hurts. Even my close friends and family look or sound confused when I cry out owww. It’s just a reflex along with covering ears. Storms today in northwest Ohio seem to be making everything much worse.
I developed tinitus last November and last March it developed into noxacusis. I’m in pain and struggling to find help .can you offer me any advice,I feel so alone .
Hi Steven. A good place to go is the hyperacusis Reddit page.
